There is an act enacted by the Government of Jharkhand to control and regulate institutions of Medical Sciences called The Bihar State Medical Institution [Regulation & Control] Act - 1981. According to the provisions of this Act, no Institution of Medical or Para-medical sciences can be established without prior permission of the Health and Medical Education Department of the State Government.
The Vananchal Educational & Welfare Trust® keeping with the provision and proforma of the Act applied for permission in the year 2004. After the needful formalities and procedures, Department of Health & Family Welfare & Medical Education, Govt. of Jharkhand gave its kind permission to the organisation to start the institute namely 'Vananchal Institute of Health Education & Research' for admission in paramedical diploma courses vide Order No. - 3/नर्सिंग - 5 - 11/04- 271/Hc dated 15/12/04 & 3/नर्सिंग - 5 - 11/04- 272 (Hc) dated 15/12/04.

The Health & Medical Education Department, Government of Jharkhand has appointed the Civil Surgeon-cum-Chief Medical Officer/Additional Civil Surgeon-cum-Chief Medical Officer / Deputy Superintendent of Sadar Hospital, Garhwa, Govt. of Jharkhand as Ex-Officio Government Nominee in the Examination Board of the institute for Diploma Courses Vide letter No. - 3/नर्सिंग - 5 - 11/04- 271/Hc dated 15/12/04 & 3/नर्सिंग - 5 - 11/04- 272 (Hc) dated 15/12/04.
The Institute has got excellent infrastructure to provide quality education. Spacious room with modern furniture and audio visual aid are available for attentive classes. The laboratories are well equipped with modern facilities. The Institute is functioning in the form of network office administration with the help of online information system. Besides games, canteen, recreation room, health centre and cyber cafe, transportation facility includes well maintained college buses are also available for our student's need.
Faculties are the main pillar of any Institute. Realizing this fact, the Institute has appointed senior and well qualified faculty members who are expertise in their respective field. Physiotherapy is a branch of Medicine and third phase of medical care. It can be defined as a science which deals with the methods of treatment through physical agents and other modalities such as : Heat therapy, Hydrotherapy, Shortwave therapy, Microwave therapy, Ultrasonic therapy, Electrical stimulators, Electrical massagers, Paraffinwax therapy, Infra-red rays, Ultraviolet units, Laser Therapy and Tractions etc. on the basis of the knowledge of Human Anatomy and Physiology. This course is to produce qualified specialists in the field of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation to teach, treat and rehabilitate neurological and orthopaedic disorders of varying degrees and nature and also persons permanently disabled by accident and various crippling diseases. There are acute need of the qualified physiotherapists and the wide prospect of the profession and the related courses. 2. Diploma in Hospital Management
The course in Hospital Management has been devised to meet growing needs of expert personnels in the field of Hospital Administration. The X-Ray Technology has a place of crucial importance in the diagnosis of various diseases. It deals about capturing inside picture or fetching anatomical position of body part for the treatment. Our medical X-ray technology course intends to meet the growing demand for qualified trained and skilled Radiographers required by various organisations associated with the health sector, such as medical institutions, hospitals and nursing homes, clinics etc. Even a trained radiographer can manage his own X-ray clinic in private sector under the supervision of a radiologist. There is shortage of properly trained and skilled radiographers at the state as well as national level. This is very useful especially in Dental, Orthopedic treatment.
It deals about management of operation theatre, sterilization as well as maintenance of instrument that helps in surgery. An O.T. assistant is having much important role before the operation, during the operation and after the operation of a patient. They are supposed to be next to a doctor, and without a good O.T. Technician a surgeon is found to be helpless. They are competent for organising and handling all the surgical procedures alone or with surgeon. Such personnel are in greater demand in society and medical organisations than a Doctor / Surgeon. At the same time, they do not fall under consumer protection acts - 1986.
It deals about care of natural teeth, artificial denture and related area. It covers preparation of teeth, scaling, plugs, eradication etc. To Train the Dental Technician students in making Prosthesis as natural as possible. Train them to fabricate complete dentures, partial dentures, fixed partial dentures, orthodentia appliances and maxillo facial prosthosis. This course developed skills for Use and identification of dental materials, Handle the tools, Wire bending, Trimming of Denture, Fabrication of complete and partial dentures in acrylie, Fabrication of feed partial dentures, Fabrication of All types of Orthodontic appliances, Fabrication of maxillo facial prothosis. The opportunities are available at Dental Institute, Clinics Labs, they can set up a shop of dental appliances or start a dental lab.
To produce ophthalmic technician who should be able to carry out early detection of visual defects with abilities to fabricate and dispense glasses. The trainees are to be imparted skills for Detection and Estimate of the refractive errors and fabrication, fitting and checking of prescribed glasses, Carrying out health education for prevention of ocular diseases and disabilities, To assist in the technical aspect of ophthalmology, Assistance to ophthalmic survey in community, Examination of cases of cases and report to appropriate phthalmologist/ophthalmic institutions, To assist in eye banking procedure, they should be able to develop the entrepreneurial skills to sustain themselves in self employment. The opportunities are available at Eye Hospital, Clinics and Govt. /Private Eye care centers.
It deals about the heart system and its related factors. The students learn about the observation of heart system (movement/circulation /prevention and care) before and after the diagnosis. Electro Cardiology Technicians are required in every private clinic where cardiologists are practising. It is an essential aid to all nursing homes, govt. and private hospitals, Government's specialized and non-specialized medical service centres, and hospitals of all profiles. The objective of the course is to prepare students at plus2 level for vocational training in the area of E.C.G., where an acute shortage of skilled manpower is existing in the country. An E.C.G. Technician course would bridge the gap between need and supply of manpower. An E.C.G. technician would be trained for better heart care management. For E.C.G. Technicians, private practising infrastructure cost is very small and they do not fall under consumer protection acts - 1986.
The program is designed for plus2 who wish to make a career in the field of biotechnology. This exciting field is full of career opportunities. Students are exposed to specialized topics in various areas of biotechnology, such as genomic storage in human body especially in case of serious disease like cancer, HIV, Diabetes etc. There are many job opportunities available at CSIR, ICMR, ICRISAT, CCNB, ITCT etc. It also enable students to pursue a Bachelor degree in the field of biotechnology or specialize in specific topics like Molecular Biology or Genetics covered in the program.
Quality of food, water, drinks; veg and non-veg meal are checked by food inspector especially at school, Institute, hospitals etc. The course deals about the measurement/monitoring of quality of food materials and its preservation.
The physical, biological and social environment in which people live profoundly influences the quality of their life and their health status. The precarious status of health of our people is due to the lingering existence of the problems of environmental sanitation : (a) unsafe water supply, (b) unhygienic disposal of waste including human excreta, (c) insantitary conditions of food and habitations, and (d) undesirable sanitation practices. There is a great job potential for them in rural and urban areas, notified areas councils, municipalities, corporations, hospitals, hotels, clubs, catering institutions, industries, mining sites, construction sites, dairy farms, fish farms, airports sea ports, railways, police, defence and various national health programmes.
This programme is totally focused on the study of nutrition balance in human body. The students are exposed about the public health nutrition, health promoter, food quality etc. The dietician are very useful in all modern hospital, they play very important role in treatment especially in case of diabetic, heart and liver disease.
14. Diploma in E.E.G/E.M.G. Tech
It deals about Nerve system, Blood circulation, and their conditions. All these are observed in E.E.G./E.M.G. This is very helpful to surgeon especially to neurologists.
16. Diploma in Occupational therapy
Occupational Therapy also known as ergomedicine (alternative medicine) is a fast developing branch of medical science. Its prospects are very demanding in various branches of medical sciences like Neurology, Orthopaedics, Burn, Oncology, Paediatrics, and even in Psychological conditions like mental retardation. Some common conditions finding prospects or scope of occupational therapy Intervention are in Orthopaedic cases, neurological conditions, mental retardation, spinal-cord injury, psychiatric conditions.
It is a comprehensive educational programme aimed to prepare professional in the field of rehabilitation of mentally retarded persons. A diploma in this field is trained in taking care of all aspects of development of a mentally retarded person including education, vocation and behaviour modification. D.M.R.T. professionals can be employed in Govt., run Day-Care Centres for mentally retarded children and special schools, in N.G.Os, working in the field of rehabilitation of the mentally retarded child-guidance clinics, early intervention centres or spastic centres as special educator or clinical supervisors. They work in close rapport with clinical psychologists and other rehab. professionals.
The candidate must have passed 10 + 2 (Science) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/Council or University and must have obtained 45% marks. Appearing candidate may also apply but their candidature shall only be valid when they obtain minimum pass marks in the examination before counseling.
The candidate must attain the minimum age of 17 years on or before 31-July of the current year.
There shall be an Entrance examination conducted by the institution. The standard of the entrance examination shall be of the level of 10 + 2. The pattern of question will be of multiple choices (objective type).
OR,
Candidate who have qualified the entrance test of Central or state govt. agency or any such equivalent examination.
OR,
Candidate short listed on the basis of interview conducted by the institute for admission.
Separate merit list shall be prepared for NRI/Management Quota candidate.
Prospectus and Application Form
The details for admission test and application form would be available at the institution counter, Farathiya, Garhwa (Jharkhand) for Rs. 250/- in cash. An application form can also be obtained through post by sending an application with the candidate's postal detail and contact no. on the Institute address along with the bank draft of Rs. 300/- in favour of Vananchal Institute of Health Education & Research payable at Garhwa or as per the notification of the Institution time to time.
Prospectus and Application Form
1. Incomplete application form will not be accepted.
2. In case a candidate is found to have given false information to the Institute, candidate will not be admitted or the admission will be cancelled if already admitted.
3. Self attested photocopy of the documentary evidence of the date of the birth such as Class Xth pass certificate should be enclosed with the application.
4. Candidate shall submit application with five passport size recent self attested photographs.
5. Candidate shall submit self attested photocopy of all the necessary documents of their academic qualification required for selection.
1. The existing fee structure is mentioned in the information brochure but it can be revised by the Fee Committee of the institution time to time as necessary.
2. The selected and admitted students shall be required to deposit the annual fee as notified by the Institution through cash / Bank draft in favour of Vananchal Institute of Health Education & Research payable at Garhwa must be issued by State Bank of India / Punjab National Bank / Allahabad bank.
The students are expected to follow the rules and regulation of the institution as lay from time to time. Attendance requirement is minimum 70% in each subject. Disciplinary action may be initiated against those students who violate norms. It is expected that students maintain proper decorum while in Institute campus. No group or union will be allowed to function, which has political affiliation. Caste, creed religion etc. will not be a source of any function.
Act of Indiscipline and Misconduct
Any act of misconduct committed by a student inside or outside the campus will be an act of violation of discipline of the Institute and will include-
1) Disruption of teaching, study, examination or administrative work, curricular or extra curricular activity or residential life of the member of the Institute.
2) Damaging or defacing Institute property or the property of the members of the Institute or any other property inside or outside the Institute.
3) Use of abusive or intimidatory language or incitement of violence.
4) Ragging of any student in any form.
5) Eve teasing or disrespectful behavior to elders, women or girl Students / Staff / Teachers.
6) Committing forgery, tempering with or misuse of the Institute documents or records, identification card etc.
7) Using or processing alcoholic or dangerous drugs.
8) Possessing or using any weapon such as knife, chains, iron roads, sticks, explosive and fire arms in hostel or Institute premise.
9) Any offence under law.
Any other act or acts which may be considered by the management, principal or the disciplinary committee to be an act of violation of discipline.
(a) Written warning and information to guardian/parent.
(b) Fine will be charged as decided by the Institute disciplinary committee.
(c) Suspension / expulsion, from the department / hostel / library and the Institute.
(d) Debarring from examination, participation in sports.
(e) Recovery of pecuniary loss caused to the person so affected and the Institute property.
(f) Information to law enforcing authority.
If at any stage during course of study of student, it is found to the subject satisfaction of the Institute authorities that:
1. A student has secured admission on the basis of false certificate, mark sheet or on the basis of any other illegal means, his or her admission will be summarily cancelled and all fee paid will be forfeited. This will be without prejudice to any other action which the Institute may take against such student.
2. The conduct of the student of the Institute is not satisfactory or indiscipline.
3. He indulges in ragging of the students of the Institute
4. The activity of the student is such to be determined to the interest of the Institute.
Honorable Civil Court, Garhwa (Jharkhand) will only be the legal jurisdiction in case of any dispute or legal action.
